CHARACTERISTICS OF A GOOD EFL TEACHER: INDONESIAN EFL STUDENTS PERSPECTIVES

This study aims to ascertain student perceptions of the characteristics effective EFL teachers. research is qualitative and quantitative. The subjects in this were 24 students with 4 male 20 female fourth semester English Education Department who asked about their a good teacher. data analysis technique uses Miles Huberman model stages reduction, visualization, drawing conclusions/verification. instrument divided into four sections that discuss personal, social, professional, pedagogical competencies. results showed teacher should be friendly, have accurate pronunciation, practical classroom management skills. In addition, indicate they expect teachers enthusiastic technological advances, while visual materials help them relax during lectures. Based on above, it can concluded overall may differ when considering general. critical nature both personal social competencies contribute being an professional teacher, anyone aspires must fully aware role personality.
